Default From H22A to B18C in EK

Alright !!

Here's the deal. This summer, I bought a 98 Civic which had a H22A swapped in it. I'm really into lapping and stuff like that, and i'm a pro B-serie. I've had 3 B16A and I want a B in my EK.

I know that the switchback from H to B is not exactly D to B. So I'm creating this topic to gather some info.

Here's the deal, I sold the H22A. It's still in my car and I want to know what to keep and what to give with the H22A.

I know I will need to weld back a plate to cover the hole for the shifter box.

Now as far as wiring goes, I really don't know. I am not the one who installed the H22A and i've never been a big H fan so I don't know if the Civic wiring harness had to be altered in order to run the H22A. So should I keep all the wiring harness or it's no good for the B switchback.

Motor mounts :
The mounts on my H22A were custom made. Is there a mount I should keep to install the B or there all no use and I should give them all to the guy who bought the swap.

Other things :
If there are any other info you would like to add. Go ahead.

i dont know how much lighter the b18 is over a h22. alot of work for less power
(some people think so) have you ever thought about getting a proper suspention and build the h22?

In my opinion, unless your getting a 98 spec JDM ITR motor, your going to be disapointed with the loss of power and torque. Its also going to be a **** load of work switching back to b series.

A lot of H swaps have the passenger frame rail bracket either modified or removed. Is yours still intact? Otherwise you may need to get it repair/replaced which would be a pain.

1. wiring harness is easy, just find another one....
2. as for the passenger side frame rail mount, on all h22 civic swaps i've seen had it had to be modified, either cut shorter or remove it completly, depending on what mounts were used. getting a new frame rail mount cost about $30-40, then you'll need to get the new mount welded back in. Take alot of mesurements, make sure the engine in level befire welding everything back.

IMO stick to the H, whatever thats been said about the H and torque steer, too heavy etc....is all bs.....
