lude does't want to shift, help plz
here's the story, i was out buying some food, went through the drive through when i went onto the road i was shifting it to 1 gear when i went to 2 gear it got hard as hell. it didnt want to shift into any gears. i was just wondering if anyone can help me out. i asked my girlfriends dad and he said i needed a new clutch. can anyone help me out?
i told my dad about it and he checked the clutch fluid, but when i put the clutch in it kinda shakes and its hard, and in some cases i leave in the clutch and all of a sudden it lets go and i can shift. sometimes i cant even take out one of the gears.
thx for all the help b4 hand

dont bother checking or changing no fluids or master/slave. its the clutch. i went thru the same thing about a month ago, wishing/hoping it was anything but the clutch but your gonna have to face it, and get a new clutch ASAP.
STOP DRIVING IT! your going to mess up your tranny. im telling u from experience. and its probably a spring that popped out of its retainer. wish u the best of luck.

Here's an update, i took my car to my girlfriends house and told her dad exactly what was wrong with it. He says its the clutch pump, can i get anybody to confirm that or other ideas?

And i highly doubt thats the problem. It shouldnt get hard to press the pedal. It sounds like the pressure plate to me. Pull the tranny.</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeh lol sry i translated it from spanish, but i dont know. hes gonna check the clutch and tell me.

if it is a fluid problem... you can normally pump the clutch a few times to build up pressure and shift......
however its sounds like a problem that will require taking the tranny off to figure out.....
good luck...

dude, sounds more like its ur clutch itself. it happened to my friend b4, the car would be impossible to shift, then u shut the car off and start it back up and you can throw the gears a few times (maybe). if its the clutch cylinders you'll see a leak and notice the fluid is low. and even then you'll still be able to shift (after pumping the hell outta it). vibration in the pedal isn't consistent with the cylinders either. but if ya wanna replace the master cylinder + slave cylinder, it'll be less than 200 bucks usually.

Why do people give advice like "I had a friend who had this happen..." and then stand behind their guess like they know what they're talking about?
This isnt the case here but it is very possible to have a blown inner seal on the master cylinder causing blow-by and still have the outer seal/dust seal retain the hydraulic oil.

found the problem, it wasnt the master cylinder, it was the slave, it wasnt sending pressure becuz it was scratching. i guess thats why when i left the clutch in a while it would disengage, becuz the slave clutch was slowly letting go. thx for the help
