Default for those who tightened their throttle cable.

i tightened my cable till there was no slack and that was maybe 1/4 of an inch. i was just wondering what ya'lls rpm sit at. cause when i start my car it goes to 1200 rpm and then drops to about 1000 after approx. 3 seconds and then then back to normal which would be like 600-700 rpm and the engine sounds a lill diff. like a fan kiks on. did i do something wrong?

if your car is cold it's normal to idle high momentarily. You shouldn't tighten the cable so much that it's holding your throttle down. put some more slack in it and then take the slack out a little at a time until you have very little in the line, then tighten the bolts down.

Proper adjustment would leave 10 mm of slack in the cable.
