Default 2000 Accord DX rear drum-to-disk conversion

After reading this in the FAQs, http://www.accordinglydone.com...=2056, I was wondering if this would apply to my car as well, parts wise at least. I'm thinking my best bet would be to get the parts from another 6th gen. Accord, or possibly a Prelude? I am not sure if the Prelude would work...

I need to do some brake work anyways, since I gave them hell at the track a while ago and they are really starting to show it now, and I was thinking about converting my rear drums to disks while I was at it. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Adding to this, since I'm looking at the Electronic Parts Catalog (looking at just the rear here, have not looked into the front) and trying to use my brain... the Accord EX V6 mudguard is the exact same part number as the i4 Accord EX, however they have different bearing assembly's, probably because of 4-lug and 5-lug setups... so would it be safe to guess that the bearing assembly, hub, etc... would fit onto a 4cyl. Accord mudguard and rear lower arm (which is the same as the V6 Accord), thus making a possible 5-lug conversion AND rear drum-to-disk conversion?

the thing you need to worry about the most is that the disk brake is design to work with ABS, you can get all the other stuff(Master cylinder, Proportion valve, etc) but i doubt you can swap in the entire ABS unit.

not saying it will not work by just good ole locking up the brakes, but how well will it work? no body knows.

Since my car did not come with ABS, I do question the functionality of brakes that were designed to be used with ABS, however I've read of a handful of people removing ABS in their weight saving adventures and other various reasons, so maybe someone who has done that would chime in. I do hope that I'm on to something here, but you bring up a very good point.

I found this interesting, the LX w/ABS uses the same drum as the non ABS LX and DX Accords. Perhaps some correlation between functionality of drums to the functionality of the disk? I don't know... just thinking out loud.

Also, in the FAQ with the link I posted above, he used the disks from an ABS car, but removed the wires and sensors and it looked like it worked quite well for him, but that is on a 4th gen. Accord... so things might not be exactly the same, but similar at the least.

:scratches head:

I thought an LX with the ABS option had rear disks... Or if it does have rear drums still, the ABS only works with the front wheels?

6th gen accords have 3 channel ABS brakes 2 front wheels and rear are in tandem.

if you want to just swap the disk brakes all you need to do is get the rear knucles with calipers and rotors attached and bolt them in
