Im looking to get another 600, Im not making another "noob" thread about what 600 I should get. One of the things i knoticed is I have just been checking out ebay alot, and i see for the most part out of all the 600's the 600rr holds its value the best, and to me it seems like the gsxr600, especially like the 04-05 really depreciate in value. Why is that? Is it just because its getting almost out of the riding season, or is that just naturally how they are?
i would like to say a lil of both. the reasn the price dropedsooo hard is cause gsxr 06 and 07 are sooo much sicker. there will proballybe simular price issues with the r6 as well.
and probably with the new 600rr too.
But, in general, Hondas hold their value the best. Suzukis depreciate in value more, most likely because they've flooded the market with gixxers.

Though this might be true in other parts of the US, I noticed that here in socal, the gixxers held there value better than the hondas, kawis, & yamaha.

very true. even the early models such as the 00's are priced as much as an 03 r6 sometimes.

Seems in socal that any supersport bike is going to hold its value well. We have tons of stunters and tons of canyon carvers so everyone is out on the lookout for a good deal on a bike.

You're ignorant. Why would you buy a bike you can't stand to ride??? If it's not comfortable to sit on, why would you wanna ride anywhere on it. True, you buy a cruiser for comfort. But i'm sure most of us like sportbikes over cruisers so you buy a sportbike that suits you best.

i wish i could say you're ignorant, but youre just plain stupid.
1. my point was if comfort is his main concern, sportbikes are not for him.
2. i'm comfortable on all of the sportbikes i've ever sat on, at least as comfortable as i can be and im 6'3".
3. it wouldnt be a sportbike if there wasnt a little suffering involved, so you can either suck it up or go buy a cruiser.
4. all current sportbikes have very similar ergo's so if you cant stand one, most likely youre not going to find one you are really comfortable on.

When did I say a sportbike was actually comfortable? I said you don't wanna buy a sportbike you can't stand to ride more than an hour. I didn't claim it was gonna be like a cruiser but not all bikes feel exactly the same. Again, if you want comfort, buy a cruiser. But most people in this thread are sportbike riders. Ask anybody in here and they will tell you, they bought a bike that suited their taste, needs and comfort.

you back track any faster and you'll end up in the 90's.
you are pretty much just agreeing with what i said, though you are somewhat contradicting yourself.

why do you think there is a market for cruisers?
if his main concern is comfort he should look elsewhere because the 600rr/r6/gsxr6/zx6 all feel about the same (at least to me).
i know there are plenty of people who sacrifice comfort for something else (beit aesthetics/power/weight/handling) because 99% of sportbike riders arent really concerned with comfort, because if they were they wouldnt be sportbike riders. comfort is pretty much last on the list of priorities for sportbike riders.

Please READ. I didn't say get the most comfortable "bike" you can. I know you said "if you are in the market for comfort get a cruiser". But that wasn't the point to any of this. When you buy a SPORTbike you don't want to get the most uncomfortable bike you can find. You find one that suits you all around like I said previously. Damnit, why is this soo hard to explain to you. I agree with you, but I am trying to say, you can find a sport bike that's gonna more comfortable than the next sportbike.
Let's take running shoes for example.... sure they are all for the same purpose and some look better than others. But you don't just go buy a pair a shoes based on looks or whatever, you get the ones that are comfortable. IE. Sportbikes are all made with the same purpose. Don't buy one cause it looks pretty, get one that suits you well and you feel comfortable on.

unfortunately youre still wrong. probably 50% of sportbike riders will choose style over comfort. and i know comfort wasnt very high on my list of priorities when i bought my bike.
but it looks like you decided to nitpick at what i said and call me ignorant even though i simply said if you happen to be buying for comfort, you'll want to stray away from sportbikes. its as easy as that, i never said, "you have to buy an uncomfortable sportbike". i was merely stating that sportbikes arent all that comfortable to begin with and the margin of comfort between them is very small.

No ****, who the hell ever said that sportbikes were actually comfortable? You are forgetting that most people in this thread ride sportbikes so why state the obvious? I know I would not ride my GSXR on a 1,000 mile trip but it's more comfortable to me than the other bikes. I said you can buy a sportbike and still find one that fits you, your style, your comfort, your height, and your preference in looks. I stated earlier that comfort is a factor in most people's decison on buying a sportbike, a small factor yes but unless you just buy a bike based on looks, you will find a bike that suits you best. So I guess you just like to be mr cool guy and buy the most "badass" looking bike, no matter how uncomfortable you are on it or how you feel on it. Let me clear it up, by comfort I don't mean ******' Cadillac, I mean a good riding posture, seat width and height, handlebar placement, etc..... Does that make more sense? Comfort in a sportbike is not comparable to comfort in a cruiser. DONE

The best question you should be asking is, how does auto0012's post work in this thread? The thread is titled "Gixxer price depreciation". All the other responses are about price depreciation, and out no where this guy comes on to a honda board and says that he won't drive one because it is uncomfortable? WTF?

So let me get this straight, youre saying, "why would you get a sportbike thats not comfortable?" and then after i say none of them are actually that comfortable, you go on to say, "i never said they were"
your posts are filled with so much double talk they hardly make sense.
