HMO is expensive though. If you can't afford that kind of cash there are other alternatives. HMO is great if you can afford it.
You can always check out ebay (make sure the seller has EXCELLENT positive feedback relating to selling engines). I bought an engine from Venus Auto Parts once. They treated me very well and had a great deal. (forgot to send my downpipe and overnighted it at there cost)

I am in the same boat as you K_Lude. I have a 97 looking to replace the motor. http://www.jsamotors.com has an jdm obd2 h22a for 1699+shipping. 2700+shipping and you get a manual trans included. HMO does not have an obd2 h22a other than the type s which is close to 4k. I have been hearing you can get a regular jdm h22a obd2 +trans. for around 2k. I have not been sucessful finding any of those deals though, but I need to keep searching.

hmotors doesnt have the h22a4, but they do that the JDM h22a type S motor that is similar to the h22a4. It has slightly more power, it is also OBD2 as well...

These guys on EBAY have 100% positive feedback relating to selling engines. Been selling them for years on ebay.
You can swap all your OBD2 parts over to the OBD1 engine. Sell all the OBD1 parts to pay for the labor to have it done if you can't do it yourself.

Japan Direct did not have an h22a obd2.
Is what you guys are doing swapping in a 92-96 jdm h22 obd1 into your 97-01 preludes and then just using the obd2 from your previous engine on the 92-96 obd1 engine?
