Default Timing problem

I just did the mpfi swap and fixed the few problems i had but now i can`t get the timing marks to line up.

I did what the book said buy using the jumper wire in the test connector, hook up a timing light and set the distributor when the pointer on the lower cover and the red mark on the crank pulley line up.

The problem is that i can`t get to the red mark(which is the middle of the three). My dizzy is all the way forward and still needs to go farther. For my swap i used everthing from my Si parts car and i did this same swap last year and never ran into this problem. Anybody else find it hard to set your timing?

Also when i go over 4000rpm my engine light comes on giving code 9. Which is number 1 cyclinder position. Could this be the reason i`m having trouble with setting the timing?

I changed a timing belt once and swore I wasnt a tooth off...it took me 4 tries and all night to get it right. It was doing the same thing, almost line up then it would run out of adjustment.

That`s what it`s like though, it`s like it out a tooth. Thats the first thing i checked. For the 1.5 and 1.6 theirs two different ways to set the cam. I have a 1.5 so thats where i set it(parrell to the head).

Should i have to set the cam where the 1.6 marks are? Last year when i did the same swap i had a d15b7 out of a 95 civic. Which is already multi-port, and i never ran into this problem. I`m running my stock d15b2 so maybe i have to get an Si cam or bump the one in my car ahead. I just haven`t heard of anyone having to do this after doing the swap. I can see if you change the T-belt but i haven`t touched it. I don`t know but this is really bothering me.
