Default clutch problems 1990 accord

I recently bought a 1990 accord lx, and having never worked on a honda, and only driven one a few times I know nothing about this beast. The guy i bought the car from says the clutch is out, But! the pedle is on the floor, which would mean that there is no pressure in the system. They recently replaced the slave cylender. My guess is that the clutch isnt out. There is a leak somewhere in the system and the fluid is leaking out, causing the pedle to drop to the floor. I can pyschically pull the pedel off of the floor and it will stay up, untill you push on it and then its right back on the floor. Does anyone have any other ideas?

well theres a thing by the bleeder that has alittle boot around it, and when you mess with that boot the fluid comes out all around the boot. When you open the bleeder fluid does come out when you move the clutch in and out with your hand, but never builds pressure and will not ever come off the floor unless pyschially done by hand..any other options other than the master cyl? It has a brand new slave cyl on it.

WELL, do slave, blled it, see if the hydraulics is good or not before changing a clutch kit, you may still need a master cylinder, the clutch has nothing to do with the pedal not coming up off of the floor.

Install a new slave cylinder and might as well do the clutch master cylinder. You might as well, as they are both inexpensive.

Properly BENCH BLEED the units! and you should be good to go.

I've seen people blow out brand new slave cylinders (my brother) in a matter of weeks by not properly bleeding the system.

It's inexpensive enough that there's no reason to not install two brand new units!
