Default Help with SCFM/Duty cycle for like air tools/compressor

I don't know if this is the right place to post, if not than move it. thanks

but my question is, i'm just starting automotive school in like 2 weeks
I want to buy some air tools but for the life of me i still dont understand the relationship between Scfm@psig and all that crap. i know that dual action sanders usually use the most scfm because they are used for a longer period of time. but could someone explain it all to me like say i have a too that uses 6 scfm at 75% like i kinda understand that
you can use your tool for almost 5 minutes and then your compressor has to like refill or cool down for the rest of the 10 min period.

well if someone could show me a place or explain to me the realtionship with all of that
and if im even close to being right bout the whole duty cycle thing

it would be appreciated

Scfm is the amount of air used at a given Psi. like lets say you have an impact wrench that says it uses 6 scfm at 90 psi. so you would need to have a compressor that can suply 6 scfm at 90 psi.

i will let otheres touch up on the rest
