Default Oil light flashing ???

While turning over my H22a4 in an attempt to get it to start (having some issues) I noticed my oil light was flashing while cranking. Is this normal? I have never noticed it before. My oil level is fine, the engine hasn't been run in a couple years. Any ideas?

Well it doesn't do it right away. After about 2 or 3 attempts without it starting I noticed it. Anyone else ever seen this, or know why it would do this?

i think it is just an indication that your oil pressure is low. Are you sure that the oil sending unit is hooked up, i dont know if that would cause that, BUT, it would be a good starting point.

Well, I suppose if it isn't starting oil pressure would definatelly be low. I will let you know once I get it running. Hopefully later today. I need to go buy a 1/2 in breaker bar so I can get my crank pulley off. I am changing my timing components today. Then hopefully she will start.

once you get that baby started, make sure to keep an eye on the oil light, and make sure it turns off
