My oil cap broke after...
After a 5 hour long drive, I open my hood, and oil all over the place and the oil cap broke into two pieces, luckly, not many pieces, is that normal, its a ITR oil cap,... did even push the car too hard, but however, hitted the speed limiter of 200 km/ph, on the P73 ecu on a JDM itr motor, just want to know is that normal, and have anyone experience this?
And how can I clean up my engine bay?..!!!!

check the FAQ on how to clean the engine bay.
Simple green or any engine degreaser is fine.
Refer to the other thread about the oil cap....and no it's not normal for it to break.

It is likely it broke because it IS OLD. There are manufacturing tolerances, so I wouldn't be surprised if that plus ...here let me help you.

even if your car is from 2001. It's over or around 5yrs old. Last time I checked, most cars go through hundreds if not thousands of heat cycles + vibrations over its lifetime.
Plastic will fatigue faster than metal.
I have some no name brand alum. oil caps on my car.... because I'm sure they'll last longer than stock and be just as good as the aftermarket caps available for more.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Good point....
despite the fact the pressure is supposed to travel from the intake arm towards the valve cover, pressure does reverse because the stock PCV valve, the red valve on the intake manifold (which should be checked also -check it by shaking it, listen for clicking noises which means it is good) doesn't do an adequate job of ventilating crankcase pressure.

OMG, you are a genius, I am serious, you might be right, i have been having idleing problem where the car would idle high when moving but normal when in a complete stop, I checked everything and every hose is connected correctly, and all the timing is right, cleaned the IAC, or wherever that calls, and still did not help the problem, you might be right?!!!! how do I check for clog and how to clean them?, I am so excited, other than the valve cover hose, anyother hose might be a problem?

I don't get exactly how to check the PCV valve, you said? where is that by the way?

Tape some plastic bags over the distributor, intake filter ( if aftermarket), fuse box, and battery. Hose everything down, preferably w/ a high-pressure hose, spray it with Engine-Brite or any kind of degreaser, and hose it again. Wipe everything down with a clean rag after this, and tire dressing will clean up your rad. hoses and other plastic/rubber parts.

thanks for the offer, but right now I think its my clogged PCV valve thats causing my oil cap to break due to pressure built up. Besides the valve, Should I or do I have to replace the hose, the L shape hose underneath, (I believe) Anyone have pictures of the hose in a JDM ITR B18C motor? Also, is it possible to have a breather hose clog?
Nobody is saying much because it's probably late....and since I am the night watchman from the other side of the world along with several others...
I can say that I won't say much till you make the attempt to go and look at your own car for this "red valve" on the intake manifold.
Seriously, just try reading what I've posted about the PCV once more ...slowly....if you have to and it will come to you .... if you're willing to look at your own car after reading it.

well, I have a JDM ITR motor, not sure if my PCV is red because I did not recall from my memory thats there is a red valve, besides that my valve cover is red, however, i have not looked yet, i will soon tomorrow, thanks
Hey, I just got a PCV valve from a Honda Dealership, but its black and they said its the same. So there should be no problem right?, ok, I will install the new valve right now
