Default help for dsm engine, dsm forum had no advice there, so thought I ask the wise ones

I know I should be at a dsm forum, but I have for the past two weeks, and got very dumb responses/ smart allick types.

Problem: with overhead cam engine,

clacks and rattles loudly from under valve cover.

This is not just lifter noise. it is loud.

at idle engine runs quietly, when reved up to 1200 to 1500 it starts clacking.

then it may stop for a bit, then start again.

Could it be a valve hitting sometime?

Doesn't sound like a rod knock, I heard them before, I ve removed plugs wires and no change in sound or frequency.

Should I pull the oil pan and check bearings, pull the top end ???

O WISE ONES PLEASE ADVISE, AND TRY NOT TO TELL ME TO SCRAP IT.

BYE THE WAY SO YOU KNOW I DO HAVE TWO HONDAS

THANKS IN ADVANCE

replaced all rockers, tested and installed good hydraulic lifters,
