Default Wheels are turning/moving when in Neutral? Why

I just started my engine while my car is on jackstands to fire it up for the 1st time. I noticed that my wheels were moving..but of course if I push the clutch in they would stop. The car speedo really didnt read anything my 10mph at 5000rpm. Should I be worried? Is this normal for a manual trans car. Will it hurt my tranny or clutch?

HUH? Mine never does that, I've had it started with the wheels in the air plenty of times. Never had then spin unless I had the clutch disconnected and in gear.

It's normal and is just friction within the transmission.

That happens all the time and yet everytime someone has to say is it in neutral, put it in neutral.

I cut turned the car off because it was still on jackstands and had to watch my kid all day after that.

my buddies crx did that when he took it to import powerhouse, for a new clutch, the idiots put in the wrong clutch, then they had the odasity to tell him he needed a new tranny, ya to bad it was a clutch for an accord... anyways hate to drop names but billy, "ya he not so smart" hahaha, but ya check to make sure you put it in correctly, ive never seen it happen "normally" on any car....

Yup, it's the fluid inside the tranny transfering the torque.

On really really cold Manitoba mornings, I've even had my car roll forward an inch or so when I let off the clutch after I first start it (ebrake off, on level ground). Cause the fluid is so thick when it's cold.
