225/45/16 tires
the tire is just wider....not taller.
stick with stock size, just for the fact that a 225 tire really isnt needed, and you dont have a good selection. and its a bit more expensive for the 225's

i've got the kdw's on my 4th gen in 225/45/16.....it helps if you have a wider rim.....i dunno about putting them on a stock 5th gen wheel....you wouldn't get the best surface contact and the sidewall would be compromised somewhat in turns

i was kinda thinking about that actually, but doesnt it make it more stable around corners?

People have done it, and their cars didn't explode.
Might want to ask the wheel & tire forum about the advantages and disadvantages of a 225/45R16 tire on a 6.5" wheel. That size usally specifies a 7" wheel or greater, but people have put wider tires on less wheel before.

i have that tire size on rota 16x7s.
and even that is buldging out the sides. what would be the purpose of putting these on your car? if its for better cornering, just stick with the stock size and get better tires.
es100s come in this size, and i will admit, tire choice is very limited.

i wouldnt recommend going with 225 's on the stock blades. And im not just talking out of my *** either, this is from personal experience. When im being aggressive in a corner, i can literally feel the tire give out on me because i dont have enough rim on the tire to keep the sidewall stiff and not buckle.
if you want to go with a wider tire, stick to a 215. That should be a perfect width for a 6.5" wheel without having to worry about the tire folding.

you definately loose lateral handleing with them, but you have more grip on a launch. im using 225's now and i just bought some 215's cuz dont like the 225's just my .02

damn I thought stock rims were 7" wide...lol learned something new
I'm running 225/45/16 on my Rota Grids, which are 7" wide and I have no problems about rubbing in turns or hard corners. If anything I think 225s grab really well, especially with the BF's KDWs.
