I had a friend who had the SOHC vtec JG cam(re-grind) and it went flat. It made decent power with nitrous.

The lobes on these cams are very narrow and are prone to going flat on re-grinds. I am not sure if the new JG cams are from new blanks.

I disagree.. I have been runnign the same SOHC cam from JG for 3 years. about 100K miles on the motor and pulled 13.6 3 years ago and pulling 13.6 3 years later. never did any other mods for that time. The dual cam regrinds do go flat but not the SOHC ones.
I used JG cams on all the SOHC build ups that I do and they have all been runnign pretty good so far. 2 years and those cars are still pulling good times.

as far as JG parts being shitty:
i have a JG head, JG cam, JG cam gear, and JG TB on a D16A6. on a stock block, was hitting mid 13's. I dont think that can be classified as being crappy.
This is from my own personal experience.

I also have run the JG SOHC non-vtec cam and it worked fine.
