Alright with the Comptech header coming out soon I will have my comparison that I wanted before I bought a header. Mainly I want to know if the shorty headers are even worth buying, I want to stay legal, get as much gain as possible, and not really increase the sound of the car any more than I have already. Should I go with Race or Short header? I thought Race headers were Illegal on... emissions? I dont know... help?

 

race headers are illegal because it elimanates the cat, and it makes it a bit more raspy sounding, but has the best gains

 

DC has a one-piece header out, not the race header. I have no idea what it looks like though, i'm guessing it keeps the cat.

 

DC Sports stuff is junk avoid it at all cost i have numerous complaint about it. Welds and flex pipes on them blow out all the time its turning into the new OBX.

 

As of July, they redesigned the header slightly to fix those issues. I'm by no means debating comptech quality vs. DC (no comparison), but I don't think there will be many more issues with the Race Header. I've had mine for about a month with no issues yet.

 

Is $500 worth 5-7 HP? I think not. I would rather buy the race header to give me twice as much HP over the shorty header. And you will save some money

but what's going to be the performance and sound difference if you keep the SI exhaust? I wanna keep mine some-what sleeper while gaining power.
