Default Hondata relfash

How do I go about getting my ECU reflashed so my v-tech kicks in at 4500 and redlines at 8600?

Is the power difference woth $600.

I have the Reflash and yeah you need to go to a hondata dealer and have them send you ECM in for reprogramming. All I have is the IMG and SRI and exhaust, and I made 192 hp at 8100 rpm but made about 30 hp in the midrange

Except the HFP exhaust doesn't give you as good as gains as Greddy Evo II exhaust. The dealer tried to sell this to me as well. I said no because they couldn't provide a dyno to prove any gains. I have seen others say that there are no gains at all. So really you are only looking at intake that is affected. Hondata strongly recommends you have at least the header/exhaust. Otherwise, you loose power. Not sure though with only the intake, maybe there are no noticeable gains. Just VTEC kicks in at 4500.

Incorrect, if you review hondatas website for the 06' Si they show two different dyno graphs. One dyno graph is of an Si with Injen short ram intake, Hondata IMG, DC race header, & stock exhaust. That is the one they show with the most gains. The other one is just of an AEM cold air intake and hondata intake manifold gasket. You see in the graph that there are gains still and no lost power, just not quite as much power as when using a race header too.

I understand your comment, but I guess when I think about it. I do not see the $600 being worth it with only intake. My information was going by what I have heard someone state that specifically talked to someone at Hondata. They strongly recommended the header.

I need to restate what I meant. With only intake, I do not see it being worth $600 to add the reflash. With intake and header/exhaust, I see the reflash worth getting. Just my opinion though.

Either way, I am curious if anyone with just intake and the reflash see acceptable. Anyone?

I guess the question is, does he intend to get a race header?

Remember you cannot ship your ECU directly to Hondata. Visit their website for a list of authorized dealers.

Unlike the RSX and some others, you do not need to send your key or anything besides the ECU.
