I guess the title "says" it all. I just got a 98 Accord 4 cyl. automatic. What a way TOO COOL car! I'm gettin 30MPG on the HWY....and lovin every minute of it!

Anyhow... it's at 91K and from reading this forum, the timing belt & trans fluid should be changed. Whats a reasonable dealer price for these 2 services? I just HATE goin to the dealer for anything! Thnaks very much!

400 for timing belt, 100-125 for ATF

or you can go to other shop that use OEM material for more discount

It varies on what is the hourly labor charge in the state county where you live.... but normally between 250 up to 800 depending the car and shop.

I pay the dealership 50$ for my atf changes. I paid 600 for my timing belt on my 99 V6.

You'll generally pay around $700 anywhere you take it. Keep in mind though, this is not just the timing belt. They replace everything needed at this mileage.

Do The Trans Yourself, Its Just like Changing the oil

Take out the plug Let it drain, Clean off the end of the plug (it has a magnet on the end)

Put the plug back in, Fill it Back Up with New fluid, About 4 Qts, I usually Put in a bottle of lucas transmission fix, then 3 quarts

Its so easy
