Ok like the title states. My oem starter died on me one day out of the blue. I go to the local autozone and have it tested and its indeed toast. I get a replacement and install it. It sounds like the solenoid isnt pushing out the starter gear fully. But you can hear it spinning. After quite a few tries you can get it to catch and start though. I test and make sure its getting power. I also changed out the tranny ground. Because it was a little corroded. I also checked the flywheel to make sure it wasnt missing any teeth. I took that starter back and got another one and this one did the same thing. So Ive read that ppl have recieved two bad ones in a row so I took it back again. Well now Im on the 5th one and its doing the same thing. I cant figure it out. Anyone else out there have this same problem??? And yes Im 100% sure Im getting the right starter. Went to two different stores thinking that it was just a autozone junk part.
