Check this out, my clutch snapped in 2 peices...
brand new clutch i installed 2 weeks ago, its been down since satuday of last weekend.. Here are some pics, What do you think.. defective? ( note: was broken in -or trying to- never raced or got onto it.)

If I were you, I would take that back and demand they give you a new one, along with some store credit or something. How the heck does one fall apart like that under non-destructive, gentle driving?
They owe you a new one, bottom line.

That's a reputable company. I would contact them direclty if your local store is unwilling to help.
I believe they are made by Borg Warner.
Anyways, yeah, that's definately a defect.

Question, not to place faults or anything yet but how did you break it in? where was it installed? What kind of shape is your tranny in? How many miles?
It looks like a fine clutch I mean it looks new other then being in 2 parts...
I've heard some people having luck with Zoom parts so I wouldn't jump on you or the maker yet.. that part is 95% asumption a defect though.

I didnt go over 3k rpm... i genetly drove it around for about 3 days. I installed it, and i have a brand new rebuilt 4sp tranny. So it rules that out. I just had it rebuilt a couple weekends ago. I know how to drive a stick so its not newb error. I think i put almost 100 miles on that clutch. I think its just a defect. Im going to get it replaced today. Ill post back

okie dokie, you'd be shocked to know how many ppl have a dying tranny redline it with 3 miles on it and blame the clutch though
Good luck as I'm going to say as I guessed before thats a bad part.

I've never been able to sucessfully break in a clutch like I'm supposed to. I'm too impatient. lol
Last clutch I installed was an ACT XTSS, I got two miles down the road and couldn't help but do a 12psi pull to redline. lol The clutch is holding fine though, takes a beating and grabs like a ****.

Well you got lucky, most places would say it was driver neglect.

I asked the guys at one of our stores (we sell borg warner as well) and they said it is definately a defect and the store should take it back no questions asked.
Sounds like they did the right thing.

My friend had a spec clutch that the pressure plate broke apart kinda like that all the metal tab things that hold the friction surface to the outer part broke off...
