89 lx or lxi trans

is there a difference between the lx and lxi trans which has the best ratios.

Yea all is the same except for the final drive ratios. The LX-i has a FD ratio of 4.066, whereas the LX is 3.866. If you're looking for a tranny with better gear ratios, an 84-87 Prelude tranny will bolt right in

THat is correct, now try stuffing an LSD in there---which is on my to do list...
