Default m2b4 trans with aftermarket final drive

Ok so ive had this m2b4 trans in my garage for a while knowing it needed work.. Well i took it to my tranny guy to open her up and see what was wrong.. knowing this is a m2b4 trans and supposed to have the 14 bolt lsd which it did not.. Im not sure if it is a aftermarket lsd unit or a factory honda one but i do know it is not the m2b4 lsd unit.. It had a circuit works final drive on it and i believe the tooth count was 13/62.. This trans was bought from a rip off guy around my town for 1500$ and was supposed to have synchrotech carbon synchros.. I only have pics of the final drive and diff at the moment but will get more tomorrow when i stop bye there.. I have searched and seen everyone say it is impossible to put a aftermarket lsd in the m2b4 case.. Is it possible to mate two different cases together and make this work?? The ring gear and pinion gear are chewed up a bit and my guy told me he would not put it back together like that.. Im just wondering if it is possible to make this work again.. And is there any way to identify the diff case(the one without the sticker)??

It looks like you have a helical OEM LSD probably from a Euro Accord Type R T2W4 or U2Q7 trans. It uses the same 10 bolt pattern ring gear as the regular H22 transmission. You should be able to use a stock 4.266 FD set or an aftermarket FD set for a 10 bolt H22 trans. If it was originally an M2B4 trans it would have required the top case to be changed to fit with this LSD as the M2B4 has a taller main case stamped "P16". The other H22 transmissions have a main case stamped "PX5". Let me know the tooth count for each gear and I will see if I can ID the model by ratio.

Yes the bellhousing case has p16-1 on it and the top case has px5-1 on it.. I did put this in my car a year ago to find out it was louder than the motor so out it came. I asked my guy what he thought it was and he said it was probably the ring and pinion gears because they were chewed up a bit.. But there was also one of the bearings that did not want to spin freely.. What are your thoughts on the noise? A combination of gear and bearing? I have more pics and will post them up in a bit. Thanks for all the help and i hope i can get this thing back together at a decent price.. I just dont want to put a bunch of money in it for it to not work again..

In the top pic that is the bearing that does not want to spin freely and there is some abnormal wear in the bottom. Sorry for such large pics but i dont know how to resize them..

The tooth count of the shaft gears do not match the M2B4 or any other OEM H22 gears that I can find. Post some pics of the shaft gears too when you get a chance.

I might of miscounted but im not sure ill try and get out there again today.. It seeming like this was just slapped together bye the rip off guy to make a buck.. Do you think the case is alright to use again with the wear were the counter shaft bearing is? Ill go get some pics when i get off work and another tooth count.. Thanks for the help.. Youll be getting my buisness when i can decide what to do with it..

Just another update on the trans.. Everything is good no problems been beat on and stayed together been almost 6 months and about 10k miles and this car is driven 6 days a week.. Just built another m2b4 with oem brass synchros just to see if i can notice a difference thanks to the crew@synchrotech.. So tranny will be coming out in the next few months to be swapped with the fresh one.. I will update when i pull the trans.. Again i wanna thank synchrotech for great customer service..

Another update..
Trans is in a new car with a different motor and still performing great.. Not too many miles since the last update but itll start racking up some now.. Maybe i should start a new thread but i had some questions about faceplating.. I know it has been done on an h series tranny and was wondering what are the disadvantages? Ive been thinking about this for awhile now.. Anybody have any opinions on faceplating??
