when does vtec kick in on a 04 base, auto rsx?

the crossover is at 2200rpm. But its not true vtec. I would hardly call it vtec

QFT.

It is not a TRUE VTEC. More like a VTEC-E found in older model Civic's and Accord's. All it does is open a second set of valves on the intake cam, comverting it to flow more air, but it doesnt actually adjust the lift or duration of the valves.

Redline: 7900 rpm 142 lb-ft @60oo RPM

* DOHC i-VTEC
* 9.5:1 c.r.

* Direct Fire Ignition
160 bhp @ 6600
Redline: 6800 rpm 132 lb-ft @5000

The base model has a K20A3 and the Type-S has a K20A2 and the K20A2 has a compression ratio of 11:1.
