Gauges? What can't I touch?
I want to change the color of my gauges using lighting gels and have been hearing horror stories of people messing up their gauges so they dont work anymore
What is it exactly that I can't touch, so far I just know
1) dont pull out the needle ( seems pretty common sense, but I've heard it done)
is it all right to seperate the gauge from the circuit board?
thanks

You talking about an indiglo gauge kit? Like this?
When you get a kit where you have to take off the needles, do this...
1. Turn your key to the ON position. Don't start the car, just turn the key in the ignition switch.
2. Mark with white out or something visible where the needle is on the gauge itself. This is for reference. That way, when you take the faces off the OEM gauges, you know where to put the needles when you replace it with the aftermarket face.
Put in the new faces, and replace the needles to where you marked on the OEM one while the key is still in the ON position.
Those type of gauges have their own lighting source, their own switch, and own electrical components. People typically disconnect their OEM cluster lighting fuse and use the aftermarket gauges.
Hope that helps...
