Default ecu..

im putin a vtec head on my 98 dx hatch, and i needa know what ecu i can use, can i use an auto one on my 5spd?

you can not use an automatic ecu.. it will check for some automatic pressure switch and it will not be there, throwing a CEL (check engine light) and for this CEL it will run in limp mode and vtec wont engage... i would use a p28 or p72 make sure it is obd2 and for 5spd

you can get one from either the marketplace or ebay. i'd go with a the ecu from the d16y8 in the 96-98 civic ex.

p72 wont work either....isnt that from a GSR? either way its dohc. What your looking for is Either OBD-2 p28 OR P2p...
