So I read my check engine light and on my 1998 4 cylinder accord and it threw these codes:

P0171 (System too lean (Bank 1)
P1457 (EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Control Canister System))

Any idea on how to fix these?

 

P0171- Start with basics first: fuel filter, valve clearence(way off),possible MAP sensor(rare), then front O2 sensor.
P1457- Again start with easy: GAS cap loose or off or cracked, vacuum leak on EVAP syst, the rest is soleniods and canister stuff(too tough to walk thru) DPJ
