wheel bearing replacement
I'm pretty sure one of my wheel bearings is going bad and I was considering doing this myself. Has anyone else done it? How long/difficult is it? I was looking in my Helms and it says you have to have some special tools so I doubt I'll be able to do it but I wanted to check first. Also, do you have to remove the knuckle? Any advice/comments are welcome, thanks..
Oh yeah.. how long can you go on a bad bearing before something horrific happens (like say my wheel falls off at 70 mph)?

if i were you, i wouldnt try drivin it too far. you can tell if you hear a ticking/squeal noise. i rather have someone do it. its a bitch doing the bearing. you would still have to take it to a shop to put on a new bearing anyway. usually it costs around $100+to get it done.
save yourself some labor money and take off the hub yourself. then take it to the shop for the bearing install.
