Well it all started when I left the dome light on. I came out the next morning and the battery was dead. I tried jumping/charging. It would keep a charge for maybe 4-5 hours then die. So I went out and bought a brand new Autocraft Silver battery. Well some how in taking the old one out and putting that one in I disconnectd the power to my seperately powered fuel system and the wire to the Tac/Speedo. After a little freaking out I found what was wrong and fixed that. Now about 5 days after I put this brand new batery in, it dies again
Does anyone know what might be draining the battery?

Hmm, well this wire was loose in my engine bay I dont know what it goes to but it looked like a ground. Is this the one that goes to the tranny?
If this picture doesnt show enough I can take another.

the better question here is, "is your transmission grounded?" if it is then you know it doesnt go there

if u have that wire hanging out, wheres it go to, i have a gorund wire form my tranny to chasis, from my intake manifold to tranny and from valve cover to manifold, honda's like grounds, check your grounds and get your alternator tested, simple easy job and i hope your tach/speedo and fuel power wire isn't directly on the battery cap, if so change that out

Not thread jacking, but my **** did it this morning. I relocated battery to rear about 3 months ago and all has been fine. I finally install my battery box two days ago and now the ****** dies on me. I have a couple of questions for you guys, what kind of voltage do guys have at the battery when charging with car running. My alt is putting out 14.3 and I/m getting 14.2 at battery in trunk. (expected minor drop due to lengthened wire) So I cut car off and keep meter on it and watch it slowly drop from 13.1 to 12.7 at which point I disconnected power wire for amplifier. Drop seemed to stop with voltage set at about 12.7 . Go to crank and car does nothing but solenoid click. Recheck battery voltage and its at 12.1 12.7 to 12.1 seems a little excessive of a drop from one crank. Could this be the CCA's on the battery? Suggestions? Battery is about 1.5 yrs old and is a shitty Autocraft Silver, replacing with Optima Red-top

Ok. So I just went to the auto part store and had them check the alternator/battery. They said the battery was bad and gave me a new one for free, because mine was under warenty. I also found a grond to the tranny was not connected so I fixed that. As for the picture of the ground I put up I still can't find where it goes to. If anyone knows that would be awesome. But thank you everyone for helping!
You can test your own alternator.
Start car.
CAREFULLY !! Remove Posative Battery connector.
If it runs, your alternator is good.
If it stops running, alternator bad.
Please go buy a service manual.
