Default 90 CRX Si, what are my options for brake upgrades?

What are my options guys for brake upgrades? What rotors/calipers will fit on, and does one require another (If I get Integra GS-R rotors, do I have to have Integra GS-R calipers also?) What are the different advantages, disadvantages of each?

You can upgrade to 10.3" front discs from the 90-91 civic ex sedan as long as you get the front assembly from the ex. Or you could drop the cash and get the fastbrakes big brake kit if you are serious about auto-x or road racing.

What all would I have to get from the Civic EX in order for it to work? Is it possible just to upgrade the rotors and keep my stock calipers and it will work, or will I have to get a whole new system up front?

http://www.fastbrakes.com

Or you could do a ITR 5 lug and have ITR brakes.

what you will need is the caliper, rotor, and hub assembly and if in good shape the flexable hoses. I have done two of these and its a piece of cake. BTW it requires 14 inch wheels. I also had to add a 3mm spacer too get the 91 stock wheels to clear the calipers. Most after market wheel fit just fine. You may or may not need the spacer. It makes a hugh difference in stoping power.

Isn't the rotor on the CRX a 10.2 inch? I don't think that is much of an upgrade. Is the caliper piston diameter any larger on an EX caliper compared to an Si caliper?

Go to http://www.cobaltfriction.com and email them. They'll know basically every company that sells brake upgrades for you, what wheel size you'll need and all that good stuff. All they do is brake upgrades, so they can help the most.

hey Bontke.. i am pretty sure the stock rotor is like 9.5... i just got some SIR (which is the same as the EX) knuckles\rotors\calipers and everything looks a hell of alot beefier. i haven't put them on yet though so i can't tell u how much better they are.. but i have heard good things about this setup as cost effective alternative to fastbrakes... i dunno... my $0.02
