The SOHC ZC is basically the JDM version of the D16A6. So a mini-me set up would, in theory, be possible.

Not sure why this is a poll though!

I have a SOHC ZC in my 90 civic hatch, and I just finished putting a d16y8 head on it, so now i have vtec. BUt make sure your bottom end is in good condition because i just swapped the head without rebuilding the bottom end and the compression is really high therfore it is starting to knock a little, but its a bit faster, im building a turbo motor though so i will get rid of this setup real soon.

i have no clue why there is a poll in this...... but any ways
when you did the head swap what did you need to do or did it just bolt right on to the block?

you would probably get a couple of extra ponies by using the sohc zc. the sohc zc has 118hp, beats 108 on the stock d16 and just feels stronger than the d16 too. could be just me though, my last d16 was a POS!

as far as i know i think the sohc zc has the same block as the d16a6 but the only difference is it has a more aggressive cam in it.i ran a best time of 15.5 with I/H/E with my sohc zc and i think thats pretty good

i believe the sohc zc has a milder cam and has 4-2-1 headers in japan.....thats what makes the hp 118.

theres also a sohc zc vtec in japan thats rated at 130hp
