Default H22 swap or turbo the f22??

I have a 95 accord EX. I definately need it to be faster. I have already did some basic bolt ons to the f22. I/H/E, plugs, wires, dizzy. But it's still not enough. The motor has 134k on it and it is an automatic. I want to swap it to a 5 speed for sure, but I not sure which would be best, doing a 5 speed swap on the f22 and boosting it, or doing an h22 swap with the 5 spd swap? What do you guys recommend. I don't want to spend more than like 2500. Any help is appreciated!

Also on my engine, which has all stock internals? Is there anything I would have to replace to add this turbo? If I bought your kit, what all what I need to install it on my car?

the chances are, you are due for a rebuild NA or boost.

do it right the first time and you'll save so much down time and money, build the block and tearing everything apart when you are swaping the tranys.

f with boost will be faster and more fun

Do you think the 5 speed swap is worth doing? Will I get a big increase in performance?

im in the same situation right now. i have an F22b1 in my CL with 150k on the odo, 5spd. im aware that boosting and h22 are around the same price, yet boostin gives a significant amount more power, however im worried about how reliable my engine will be.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Mr Wonderfull &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">OK, aqs I have EXPERIENCE on the subject:

You DO NOT have to do **** to a stock block F series to boost say 10 PSI - in fact it is COMPLETELY unneccesary.... (howeevr I do reccomend a compression check and general overlooking) .

I put head studs in after a head lift sit at 12 psi, and had no problems running up to 17 psi after that.... At 10 PSI i made 260whp as well on my setup- its really in the tuning..... Car has been boosted fopr over a year now. Currently running 15 PSI (around 300 WHP) and the car is LOADS of fun. Smokes Magnums, Mustangs, (stock) STIs, and all the dumb asses with Type R swapped civics around here that think they are the ****.... HA HA HA IN A 4DR ACCORD!!!!! (and Im fat!!!!)

I put the kit on at 140,000 miles and I know have 164,000 on it ands i Beat it EVERY TIME i drive it!!!

My motor got hurt cause I boost spiked due to a Bigger FMIC i installed, and cracked a land.. spike was at like 20 psi....twice LOL, but it still runs GREAT AND PULLS HARD AS HELL, just smokes a bit

To the OP, you will need:

a set of 450 cc DSM injectors -$50
Chipped ECU -$100
FMIC -$80-100 used
BOV -$45-200 depending on what you want

those are the main things... BUT you will need some little things such as gaskets and such for the setup. This is a BOLT ON deal though, it has all been carefully put together and fit is KICK ***... Lots of time went into the fabrication. In addition, the ceramic coating asn=d heat wrpping made a HUge difference in under hood temps. I can send you more pics if you like... If you are serioous... Im not hurting to sell it by any means, I love driving the car still. Did I mention I kept A/C, P/S and EVERYTHING??? The setup is clean too.... everyone asks me where I got it, and when I tell them I built it (thanks for the help Mike!!!), theyre all likew DAMN....

Now that I want to sell it, seems like everyone with cash has dissapeared!!!!

LOL

As I mentioned in the add, ill send you the chip i made the power on, as well as the cfustomized front motor mount too.

Just let me know

PS: YES 5 SPEED!!!!! FTW
</TD></TR></TABLE>

I too have experience on that subject.

mine was boosted too. WAS.

not wanting to sh-t on your for sale plan but at that mileage, i don't think so.

F22 boost is lots of fun and they are very strong motors. I love my h22 though. The boosted F would be better for off track fun but at a road course I think id still take my h22.

i took a look at mr. wonderfull's setup and numbers, and his claim of kills. its pretty impressive if its all true. just to get an idea, how much did you sell the kit for, mr wonderfull?

what does a typical kit like that run for?

What about this situation?

H22 turbo VS F22 turbo

H22 wins in this case, but you'll be spending more money, right?

Whats up in the 415 mang (at least it was when I was living in RWC)... Just sold the kit this weekend, Had about 2500 in it w/ exhuast and everything.... LOADS of fun!!!!

I only sold most of it. Kept My injectors, MBC, FMIC, BOV and cold side pipe

Good luck!!!

Let me know if I can help you out, </TD></TR></TABLE>

yeah, the whole peninsula is 650 now, hence the username its good out here except for getting **** on by every car on the road except stock civics and LS tegs. i was saving for the H22, but i figured the gains would be minimal. so i decided boost is the way to go. i will probably have alot of questions for you in the future. anything you suggest off the bat to read to get into turboing?

It's not about the milage, my friend had a d16z6 boosting 12lbs on a totally stock motor with 216,000 on the clock (never rebuilt) His compression was good across all 4 cyls... Just have to make sure something else doesn't break due to mileage like timing belt or the like

I am not going to get too in depth here since most people who have been around here for a while know my opinions and past dyno numbers. That and I really dont have time for the drama that starts with these repeated threads.

I would vote for a boosted f over an h22 swap in a heartbeat.

Just waiting on some little details but everything should be coming together nicely quite soon.

Got my fuel system all worked out mostly (1000cc precision injectors, sx billet regulator, some braided lines, big pump, etc.) but now really just debating whether to try and see if a single plate sprung clutch will hold the power or if I should go to a twin plate right off the bat.

How are thing coming along on your new indevor?

Definitely go H22, ya won't regret it... turbo+daily driver = expensive if done right, a pain if done wrong. H22= drop it in and go

Well what are you planning for the car? If you just want madd dyno numbers DUH boosted F. If you even more madd dyno numbers and your willing to pay more BOOST THE H. If you can. I'm not going to bother with boost so I don't care. Between the two choices given however, again...just go with the F.

(^o^ x)' Oooh ho ho ho.
