Default tell me whats wrong with my vtec......

ok well i have tried many different things and searched for many different solutions.
here is the set up ..
fully built ls/vtec turbo. running on AEM EMS.

i have checked all the wireing and everything with a volt meter ..everything works properly.
i have swapped vtec solenoids.
i have hooked a switch to the solenoid to make sure it is opening.
i took the car to about 5k hit the switch and it opened but still no vtec./?>

my car does not have an oil pressure sending unit on the back of the block but to my understanding this is a dummy light.?,.>
my car also does not have the knock sensor hooked up >>? does AEM need this to run vtec??

i have also checked all my dowel pins and everything was there.

Take the dizzy off and under the cam there should be a little hole in the corner. It should be pluged with a allen key bolt i believe. I had the same problem, forgot to put it back after the rebuild and had no vtec. Good luck buddy hope that helps

no, the one we are talking about, is under the end of the intake cam down in a little galleyway. right by the dizzy. the hole you are referring to i believe is under the middle of a cam cap, it stays open

This shoudl be a simple problem too fix. Check the basics first 90% of the time its something simple. Vtec needs oil pressure, vehicle speed, and the motor too operating temperature. Check your AEM units settings too make sure the vtec settings didnt get messed with.

You dont have an oil pressure sending unit? Hmmm check your AEM settings for vtec engagement.

i have the vtec oil pressure but not the one on the back of the block but i beleiv that one is a dummy light. and AEM shows that it is giving vtec the power .. i even ran a volt meter off of the ecu wiring to make sure ti was sending it and sure enoguh right at 5200 the aem gave it power. i even had a lil oil pressure drop showing that it opened the solenoid .. just no vtec crossing over>>>>????
