difference between d16z6 oil pan and d16y7 oil pan?

Default difference between d16z6 oil pan and d16y7 oil pan?

anyone know what exactly is different between d16z6 oil pan and d16y7 oil pans? is it something on the inside? pickup placement? will a y7 pan work fine on my z6 engine?

Z6 oil pan will not work on the Y7. 1st hand experience. I don't know about the pick up question.

y7 pan on a z6.

Well if one doesn't work on another it's <u>usually</u> safe to say that that other won't work on the original...

not necessarily, depends on whats different between the two. which no one has said whats different yet.

I can tell ya right now that the crank offset is pretty close, so I doubt that's the reason. So if he couldn't get it to fit I'm guessing it's a bolt pattern deal.
