Default CEL 8 or 80?

I have a 97 Civic HX w/ nothing on the engine except an AEM SRI. Well here's my story:

I was driving home from school about 2 hours ago and the CEL suddenly turned on. I did not notice anything was wrong and I was like a mile away from where I live so I didn't stop and thankfully got home in 1 piece. While I was driving home with the CEL on, I noticed that the shift light was not engaging. I did not drive it hard in anyway, I'm a conservative driver. I did not know what was wrong since and I never had a CEL before. After I got home, I did some troubleshooting and came up with either 8 or 80. Each blink last for about a second and another second between each blink. So which one is it?

short blink = 1
long blink = 10

If it's 8 long blinks, it's 80.
