Default CEL!

I bought a 1999 Prelude, with 173,000 miles last night, and took it to a mechanic to have it looked over LAST NIGHT. Then, while I was driving home from school about fifteen minutes go on the highway, when the check engine light turned on.

I'm terrified. Should I take it to have it looked at first thing tomorrow, or would I be safe driving it to school?

Get the CEL codes before you pee your pants.

A CEL code will never mean the end of your motor. As long as there is oil in it.

Go to something like an autozone. They do diagnostics for free.
