ok i just put my new axle in and im in the process of tightening the castlenut onto the ball joint bolt but the bolt spins with the nut and it wont tighten, how do you guys keep that bolt from spinning? thanks in advance.

 

put your jack under the control arm and put some pressure on it.

well, try again. make sure the castle nut is not cross threaded, or that the threads on the ball joint are not boogered up.

jack stand under the control arm, and nothing else, all the weight of the car on that balljoint, if it still spins you have a problem, but never seen one do it yet.
