Hey everyone. Im lookin into a 2000 SH prelude. I have been reading a couple of threads and to my knowledge SH ludes dont have lsd correct? And the base models do? If i wanted to install a lsd, can i just disconnect the atts? And I also read that swapping out a atts to a normal tranny is easy. But installing a atts into a base model is hard, correct? Sorry if these questions are dumb. I'm not to crazy about the SH model, but i found a sweet deal for one. Im mostly interested in the base model. Are there any lude owners here that have turboed or s/c there SH lude? Thanks for the input.

Neither USDM versions had LSD. Japan models did have it I beleive.

 

If you're planning to do a serious build (NA build, FI), don't get the SH. The ATTS can't handle the high power. Go with the base model.

 

1. SH models dont have LSD
2. Base Models dont have LSD
3. JDM Type-S is really a SH with all the Type-S goodies (cams, higher comp, 220hp)
4. You cannont install ATTS on a base. The blocks are not the same.
5. You can remove ATTS in an SH as long as you remove the ATTS unit and put on a base tranny. You will also have to manufacture a custom bracket for the intermediate shaft.
6. You can turbo an SH all you want, but you will lose ATTS with high horsepower. It will just be dead weight (40lbs) so just get rid of it.
7. SH Ludes are nice, i enjoy mine very much. THe whole thing about the base being faster is a joke also, the weight difference is translates to about .01 in the 1/4 mile.

o yea? well that makes me feel good. this whole time I thought that SH's were a little slower. I dont really care about the wieght. there are ways too work around that.
