Default 97 EX Rear Cat O2 sensor ?

97 EX Civic stock D16Y8 / automatic
Is the rear Cat O2 sensor the same part # as the front/manifold O2sensor ?

No. They are not the same O2 sensor.

They are the same "sensors" the only difference is the rubber grommet on the one after the cat, and the 99-00 have the male/female connectors switched

Here is a Denso part number list for my car but they all indicate without Vtec ?
I did the list selection with D16Y8 ??
Confused

O2 Sensors

just get a universal DENSO 4 wire o2 sensor off ebay for $50, it comes with connectors and some comprehensive instructions, you have to be a retard to expletive it up

the universal is 234-4209

I just look at the DENSO website they mean without VTEC as in not DOHC

Uhhh
Mine is an overhead cam Vtec. That's why I'm asking -They don't list any for VTEC .
Why ? There is'nt anything Honda-Vtec-proprietary about the downstream sensor is there ?

Right, but yours is a SOHC, not DOHC.

ngk has o2 sensors on this site, check it out.

also, why not just go to the local parts store and pick up the exact one you need.
forget using those universal ones. you have to cut the oem harness off to get it to work. if your like me, i try to keep everything oem looking as possible.
