Default Mitec/Smiley Pedal Control

Picks kinda speak for themselves.

Ignorre my unsteady hand, it was late when I was playing around.

Since then I placed a microswitch in the pedal and removed the one on the torch.

I also picked up a gas lense setup, we haven't played with the lense too much, but we LOVE the pedal

Yes Casio Piano Volume Pedal, ebay special, 14.99 but I've seen them as low as 0.99. Just didn't want to wait for the end of the auction so I used buy it now.

Pedal setup cost: Less then 30.00 CAN

Gas Lense: 35.00 CAN shipped for convrsion kit and 10 extra lenses.

until i start doin this for a living, i think ill stick with a smiley.
hell CCfab was using this exact welder to make manifolds for over a year.

right now the only thing i cant do on my car is weld manifolds (i can mig, just not tig) and tune.

im geting a tig soon, and jeremy is gonna start teaching me to tune.

i have to be able to do everything myself, and i would like to know why this welder is a "nightmare"

unless you want to sponsor my car

i think once you get the part in front of you, you (and i) will realize it isnt as complicated as it seems.

it would be nice to have something sayin what you did,
ie:

i moved the potometer out of the machine and into the pedal, rewire it so the cord plugs into the main machine

or whatever you did

That's all that there is to it.

1: Pull pedal out of shipping box.
2: Open up TIG, remove **** and potentiometer
3: Remove screw on the side of the pedal.
4: Gut the potentiometers from the pedal.
5: Instal Welder pot into pedal.
6: place gear from pedal pot onto know (drilling out hole may be required)
7: Determine polarity of pot and soldier the cord from the pedal to it.
8: take a 1/4" plug from Radio Shack and match up wiring to the cord and to what existed in the welder before.
9: close everything up, make sure the pedal is giving you fully sweep of the pot,
7: GO and weld.

I don't have any pics of the Microswitch startstop but that's not science. I cut a hole in the pedal, took the wiring from my plasma lead which I don't use and wired it to the microswitch which I glue to the pdeal. and Bingo, pedal start and nothing in the way on the torch.

Really. Anyone can do this without screwing up. If you have the pedal it is completely straight forward.
