Default Stock Motor or Swap.......

I got the 02 EX and im debateing what to do with my motor. I was just wondering if its worth just modding out the single cam or just going for a swap. I was just wondering how fast people got the stock motor. Cause alot of people say its slow but i keep up to alot of cars like DOHCs and stuff. Just need some advice

if you build your engine right you can get alot of hp with turbo"i did the turbo route and the hole 9 yards" but i dont now about na seems it would be hard. one guy was right it will cost alot of money but the swaps cost alot of money to around $10,000 if you pay some one. you can get more hp for your money with turbo and built motor.

On a D17A2? I'm calling BS until I see a dyno sheet or a mod list and a dyno sheet.

There is no way ANYBODY would classify the output of a D17A2/1 as "alot". It's just not possible. Now, if you are talking about a boosted K series, then you would be right. You can extract alot of power out of those things with the right parts and someone that knows how to tune the thing.

Then you really suck at tuning. What octane gas is that you are using?

What nitrous kit you use?

Turbo setup?

Fuel system?

Ignition system?

Engine management?

Pics?

you turbo'd your car and its never been on the dyno? im callin BS. pull up a mod sheet for us while your at it. and also for red.em2, if your making 300whp+ from a 100-115whp motor, thats 3x's its power figures so i think its pretty impressive. thats like making 600+whp on a k20a but hey, to each his own.

How did you tune the EMS with no dyno time?

This reeks of MAJOR......

Get your head out of your ***, and come talk to us... In the meantime, quit hijacking the OP's thread. Make your own if you want to prove or disprove that you have a 300 whp d17a2 that has never seen a dyno.

show some pics, or a dyno sheet or even talk about ur engine like u know what ur talking about.

99.9999% of people running 310whp, when they list their engine parts list a lot more than

Turbo

Nitrous

310 WHP

You could, but an N/A build uses High C/R pistions while a Turbo uses low. So it would be pointless to build it before u boost it.

it's cool that you're taking your time to answer everyones doubts but you need to backup your claims. if you say you have this and that, but if you can't back it up, these are the types of responses you are going to get.

as far as i know, there's only one person who has successfully reached ~300whp on their D17, and if he didn't post pics, he'd be getting the same responses as you. he's posted tons of pictures of his setup, even his progress, and to top it off, a dynosheet.

you said you had your engine built by DH Racing? you must've been really lucky then, because from what i've heard- they're out of business, they've scammed a lot of people, and to top it off, whatever work they completed was crap.

back to the topic for jsut a moment,

D17 isnt bad for a turbo but its a ton of work and it still wont be really fast. Swap is awesome but a good engine will cost you. one nice part about a d17 is that you can buy a whole engine for like $600 so if it dies, your not out a ton of cash.

I'd like to see that 310 hp car in person but sadley I live accross the country from you. How about some pics? maybe even a video clip, youtube is pretty easy to set up.
