Default please help me wire up my amp and sub

i will let the head unit power the speakers. i will just use the amp to power the sub. the head unit has 3 sets of rca's. 2 normal sets and one that says sub out. the amp is a 2 channel amp with 2 sets of rca's.

How do i run the rca's???

right now i'm running only one set of rca's from the head unit to the amp. i'm not useing the sun out part of the rca on the head unit. and it sounds like crap and the sun sounds very very week. its alsomost as if i dont have a sub.

Not sure but why would you say that the radio has a subwoofer output. Then say that you did not use it? Thats what its for. Now please post what your set up is. What kind of sub. And what kind of amp.

You may need to go into the menu (settings) and either turn the sub level up, or turn it on altogether...

Yep, most likely your sub (output) is turned off on hu. And the reason why it sounds weak on other rca outputs, is because a crossover is set on hu. Otherwise there is no difference between which output to use.

from the sound of it, you are completely clueless and probably jacked up all the wiring. that's why there's no sound.

take pics of how you wire everything up and we'll determine if it's jacked up or not.

Hey is the sub a dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm? And what model kenwood amp? Not all amps can run 2 ohm mono bridge. So if you have the dual 4 ohm its not going to work depending on the amp. Also what headunit? The more information you can give us the better and quicker we can help you.

The "sub out" RCA only allows subwoofer frequencies to pass through it, which is exactly what you want. If you use that RCA and there's no sound...
a. The sub out is turned off in the head unit.
b. It's on, but turned all the way down.
c. The amp has internal crossovers, and you have them messed up, making the sub play full range, which will blow the sub eventually.

It sound like your sub is playing high frequencies and no bass, from what your describing. Does you amp have internal crossovers? Are there crossover switches and/or crossover buttons or ***** on the side of it? Pics would halp.
