ok i was driving with a knocking noise for about 3 weeks and 1 day it juss shut off.i thought i had sezd up on me ...but then 2 days i started it up and then it sounded like my piston shaterd so i took it out and it wasent but i found out that i spun a bearing but it waz so bad that the bottom bearing on piston #1 waz compleatly gone...my question iz can i still use that block...juss change the bearings and piston rings??

 

You can use the block, but you are going to need a new crank. Also you might want to get a new oil pump and oil pick-up. The bearing material has been circulated through out your engine for some time now. The oil pick-up is all covered in bearing material as well and is a tough cookie to clean. If are rebuiling the block w/ new crank you might as well replace the oil pump and pick-up or the oil will be pumped into the new bearings and imbedded into them. Spun bearing suck!

 

y would i need a new crank??and cant i juss clean out the oil pump???cuz i have the whole motor pulled and striped. thanx 4 the help sofar...keep it coming..
