Default switching to r134a a/c not a retro fit, a couple ?'s

i have a 93 ex coupe with a b16b swap that i bought without a/c. now i want to add a r134a a/c system so i don't have to deal with finding and spending butloads of cash on r12 freon.

first i'm an a/c newbie i don't know **** about there systems. so i would like to know what all parts i need. i also heard that i need a special bracket from a b16 del sol or something is that true. if it is i would like that part # and the part # of the belt.

what different cars can grab an a/c system from, i know i need a 94+ system, and i know i need the smaller compressor from a civic, so integra compressors won't work right? but can i use an ek system?

and any help on describing how to install all this stuff in the car would be great

Use an ac system from the 92-95 civic to get all the parts you will nee you might have to change the lines at the compressor to something diff based on the compressor. Try using the search function look for ac install first that should help you out

first of all i did search, and what i found was that most people have less than desirable results when using a retro fit kit like the compressor blowing literally, and the a/c wasn't very cold. so i would be looking for a 94 or a 95 system, but it's easier to find ek a/c systems. basically all your post did was to show lack of knowledge on the subject.

no.

to the op, if you are going to add the r134 system you need components from any 94-95 civic (that is the only years they came in).

since you have a b-series motor yes you will need a special compressor bracket. many say the 94-95 del sol. part # 38930-P54-000. but if you want to save some money (since the dealer can be expensive), order the cr-v bracket (part # 38930-P7J-000). they are identical to each other, the only difference is the stamping. it is also about $60 cheaper, i know through experience.

you will aslo be using a compressor from any 94-2000 civic. the install is very simple, just take your time installing the lines, since they bend very easy, you really don't want any kinks in the lines.

this might be reiterating what you already know, but make sure you swap out the receiver drier with one that is r134. the compressor and drier are the two main things you will HAVE to swap out. the oil used with r12 is no way compatible with r134, and it will totally gum up your system if they mix.

and i second using the P7J CR-V bracket. much cheaper, and it is what i used on my b16 swap. bolted up perfectly.

good luck!
