Default Speedometer?

Is the speedometer powered by a fuse, along with temp gauge and fuel gauge?

vehicle speed sensor, it is located on your tranny, you should go pick up a haynes, or helms manual for detailed instructions.

If there's something wrong with your VSS, your check engine light should come on. I had a problem with a worn wire.....an issue with a custom wiring harness for the JRSC install. ANyway, my speedo didn't work, but it registered on the ECU as an error for the VSS. If your check engine light isn't on (ie. the ECU is getting a signal from the VSS), then it might just be a connector problem or a guage problem....somthing in the interior of the car.

pull the VSS connector at the tranny and clean the connections first.

Code 17 BTW.

I don't have a Honda diagnostic computer, so I ended up taking it back to my dealer. They ran the ECU diagnostic, found the problem and fixed it. It cost about $80.00 CDN after taxes.
