techone HID install *pics*
I finally got around to installing the Techone HID kit i got from Marcucci Motorsports. Its an affordable HID pnp kit that i was looking for (i don't want to spend the time / money on a retrofit) because i needed brighter output from my jdm blackhousings. I happen to choose the 5k h4 kit.
Install: The first thing you notice is there isn't much space for the ballasts. I had to improvise and just use whatever space i could find. I used 3M double sided tape to affix the ballast. After that i just unplugged the harness from the bulb and figured out which one was positive. From there its just like putting in another bulb and i connected anything. I also used plenty of electrical tape to seal everything up. After that i just verified they worked, and since i did the install during the day, i have to wait for actual pics of the lights. I also need to adjust them.
here are the peliminary pics
Here are some comparison shots with the pnp kit on the right and my regular bulb on the left (osram/silvania silverstars)

beam pattern (note, with fogs installed)
edit:

Wow, This sux to be a "TRAIL" user. But anyway...On a better note, I am actually about to purchase some of these for my JDM Black Housings. You just ordered the H4's correct? Are there any warranties with these lights? Do you or can you get any pix of the lights on without the fogs? Also can you get pix with the HID's and the high beams on? Sorry I am asking 34514 questions, I am just trying to get everything out because this is the only post I have for a couple of hours. Well if you can get this stuff that would be great and if you are able to chat on AIM, Sign on and I will IM you. Thanks!

i will someday. if i could go to the garage door i would, but since the garage door is in the back with a huge slope, there is no way of getting in.
and i am never near a wall with a camera. but i can tell you it looks like stock bulbs, just brighter.

why? i see no problem using stock wiring harness. the hids use less power than the stockers so i don't think its an issue.
maybe make the install look a bit cleaner, but i really don't do much inside those areas much anymore

Not when the ballasts are "kickstarted" when you first turn the lights on. After that, it will draw less power than the H1 halogens. Well, you may fry up your harness the next time you turn your lights or it may be on the next thousanth attempt. I leave it up to you.

for the drivers side I put the ballast below the cruise control unit behind the headlight. Fits just right and nice and stealth too. Im almost done w/ my new retro of bixenons into a jdm headlight. Pics soon to come
