Stock engine, no upgrades. I thought ignitor was in the distributor. Car is an 89 CRX Si but engine is a d15a2 obd0 I think.

the ignitor is inside the distributor not on the firewall, make sure voltage is going to the black yellow wire

Dizzy is a newly rebuilt unit and there is power to the black/yellow wire. Could the problem be the main relay?

I'm not sure to your answer, but a lot of ef's have problems with their main relays keeping them from starting. My old 89 dx did it, my dads 4dr 89 dx does it sometimes, but my 91 Si does not. Hopefully it never does. That **** was annoying. Good luck.

How did you verify that there is no spark? And no, a bad main relay on your vehicle will not cause a no spark condition. Did your "rebuilt" dizzy come with a new ignitor (inside distributor), coil (inside distributor), cap, and rotor. If your dizz came with all new components and you have power to the coil something is deffinetly fishy. Also take a look at the tach when your cranking the car. if the is dle jumping a little say 0 -10 rpm then your ignitor is o.k. and that if you do in fact ahve a no spark condition it is usally from a bad coil. but I would like to know how you verfified that you have a no spark condition.

i took oout one wire, and held it 2 cm away from the valve cover to see if there is gona be any electrical spark, while another person was cranking the motor. ! but there wasnot.

so u think replacoing the distributor wud be a good idea? because im facing the option of towing the car to a mechanic or doing it myself, i jus dont want to spend too much unnecesary money. if u say its the distributor i will go and buy one.

I didn't say ithe dizzy was causing a no start. Just try this diagnosis: Crank the car over and watch the tach, wait, do you have a tach in the gauge cluster? Well if you do it should jump slightly when cranking if it doesn't its the ignitor. If it does jump it is most likely the coil, if you have power to the coil which you said you did I i'm correct. Also take the dizzy cap of and do a visual inspection. And i wouldn't buy a new dizzy unless you are going to have that motor for along time, i.e. no swap plans. Just go to the junk yard and get a distributor or maybe just the coil and you could practice the removal procedure on the junk yards car.
