clutch problem.........need help/advice asap........plz....
95 accord EX 5spd blah blah blah.....About a month ago, the shifter wouldn't go into any gear...got the master & slave clutch cylinders changed....problem solved. Then all of a sudden another problem popped up. After doing city driving for about 10-15 mins (or frequently shifting the gears for a while), when the car is in gear and I press the gas to speed up, the RPM moves up but the car hardly moves; and eventually after being in traffic for a while/shifting frequently, car doesn't move at all. If I turn the car off and let it sit for about an hour, everything goes back to normal. The if I drive again in traffic, same thing happens.
I took the car to my [shitty] mechanic...he said clutch is bad. So I immediately put in an Exedy clutch in. The problem was still there. I took it back to my mechanic again...he says "slave cylinder I put in your car last week is defective."
So I get another slave cylinder put in. Same problem! By this time, I'm furious...so I take it to my mechanic again and he's like "those two slave cylinders are defective..get another one from a different place." So this time, I get it from the Honda dealer, paying almost 3 times more. Got it changed and the same freaking problem!
I'm really sick and tired and frustrated with this problem. Any honest help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you replace the clutch disk, pressure plate, and throw out bearing? Did you lube the nose shaft of the trans where the throwout bearing rides?
Has anybody watched the clutch arm at the trans housing to be sure the slave is letting it release?

Well, honestly I dropped my car off to my mechanic when he changed the Clutch and the master cylinder. I didn't do any of the work myself. He changed pretty much everything that came with the Exedy Clutch kit....[does the pressure plate and the throw out bearing usually come with the clutch?....what is a clutch disk? is it the clutch itself?]. I haven't changed the flywheel. Could this be a problem? As you can see, I am not a mechanic and I know very little about the clutch components.
As far the reliability of my mechanic is concerned, he is pretty honest. I'm 99% sure that he has changed everything that came with the clutch kit. I was physically there each time when he changed the slave cylinder...it's easy to change...took him about 15 mins each time max.
The only thing that blows me is that the mechanic was certain each time when he said that the slave is defective...when it really wasn't.
My accord is even worse now. The car pretty much doesn't go anywhere after driving for about 5 mins in traffic. Once again, the problem is that when I put it on gear and give gas, the RPM goes up but car barely moves (doesn't matter what gear it's in)...which literally pisses of everyone that's behind me in bumper to bumper traffic....I get honks all day. Also I forgot to mention in the last post.....I have to let the clutch come up about 100% more to let the car roll from 0. Get it? You know how usually you press the clutch..shift it to 1st, and bring clutch pedal up about 1/3 of the way and the car starts moving....well after about 2 mins of drive, I have to bring it up 2/3rds of the way and after about 5 mins, all the way!....to let the car start moving from 0. [Is that called the friction point?]. I hope you're understanding what's really going on [I don't even know the correct terms
].
Anyway, plz help me out......I'm lost here....
