my b18c engine has shot rings. I have a feeling that i may need to bore out the cylinders .25-.5mm . Now if I do bore it out and have it honed, is it safe to just get new rings and re use the same pistons that were in it? Or am I going to have to get new pistons to fit the bored out block?

 

be honest while you have it out get some new pistons high compression if your going allmotor or low compression if your going boost...

 

i would but im going to sell right it right after I get her running healthy again,so i dont want to waste any more money than i have to. i already have a buyer lined up.

 

as long as they are in good shape you can reuse them. Just check for wear.

 

so even if i bore it out .5mm I can still use the oem pistons?
