OBD II H22 Swap - EK Civic Questions - Yes I searched and read the link above..
I just picked up a 99 Civic EX 2dr to use as a project car. I need it to get me through the winter but this summer I want do a H22 swap. Living in CT I have to maintain the OBD II port for emissions. So, would that limit me to USDM motors since it is OBDIIb or can I go with something like the H22 Type S 97-98? OBDIIa is 96-98 right? 99+ would be OBDIIb so I should be looking for a USDM 99-01 motor, non SH obviously. H22A- what is the last digit. Did the US motors come with LSD? I've read info from a bunch of threads but many discuss OBDI swaps? Wiring? Obviouslly the H22 ECU. What wires need to be re-routed? Custom axles need to be done like Hasport or DSS? What about A/C and P/S lines? Is the A/C retained? H22 alternator? Any other links/info would help. TIA
JDM ecu's won't work for Emissions. And US OBDIIb ecu's have the immoblizer. You are outta luck buddy.
you can buy a 75 dollar conversion harness for your car to convert it from obd2b-obd2a. Get yourself a 1996 h22 ecu. DONE. If you have trouble finding a ecu just hit me up. I have one laying around that i would let go for a reasonable price...........Hope that helps.
Can you keep A/C? I already A/C out of turboed Accord and I am regretting it during the summer so I want this car to have A/C.

You can keep A/C. Look for the HCP A/C bracket (hard to find, ALWAYS on backorder it seems like).

yes, you can keep your ac and your ps. all you need for your ac is the Hasport ac mount (75-125.00) and as far as your ps, you need the pump and brackets off of a 97-01 prelude.
