Car cuts off
When my car is running, if I turn on the headlights and turn the car off the car will still run (abs light comes on though). It stays running until I turn off the headlights. A few times I would be driving and the car would sort of stall out for a second or so. The rpm tach goes to zero and the car decelerates. This only happened for a second or so then it would drive normal again. About a week ago it did this again but it shut off and would not start again. I searched for the problem and could not find it (checked all wiring and fuses). I think the previous owner might of had remote start. Does anyone know what could be the problem. All help is appreciated.
The problem is that you have an electrical gremlin somewhere. I would take the plastic off ur steering column and check the wires for anything out of the ordinary...
the wires to the right turn signal rubbed against the inner fender (no grommet) and fried a few wires. I replaced them with color matched wires, I also blew the alternator/speed sensor fuse. I'm going to check my wiring again, hopefully I'll fix it soon. BTW smoke did come from the fender and bottom of the dash, I assumed it was just the fuse. I pulled the dash and checked the wires and they seemed to be fine.
